We know that the careers sector is full of amazing people doing great work who are supported by professional and membership bodies like The CDI and AGCAS. But the problem is, they’ve all got too big a remit to just focus on attracting new talent into the sector and meanwhile, nobody knows about us or what we do. Which is where we come in. Stats from the CDI’s big listen survey and Careers England report:
And yet…ROI on careers guidance for every £1 spent, average £2.50 for young people and £3.20 for unemployed adults. So the sector makes financial as well as moral sense.
We know we are at crisis point and The Talent Cycle’s Founder, Caroline Green RCDP, has worked in both Careers and L&D/Talent Management for nearly two decades.
The purpose of the site is to signpost would-be careers professionals to the vital information they need in a user-friendly way and also create a hub for current careers professionals to work out what next, from celebrating and learning from others to exploring options around the sector, to creating a legacy.

Imagine if the Careers sector was fully staffed, utilised and renumerated. Where the profession was full of appropriately trained, passionate professionals, who helped their clients to make the world a better place, by supporting them to manage their career lifespan.
Developing the cycle of talent for the careers sector, making it robust with a strong talent pipeline.
Collaborative – we believe we are stronger and better together (both inside and outside of the sector).
Enthusiastic Cheerleader – did we mention we LOVE careers? We’ll be one of the sector’s confident voices supporting the great work happening and encouraging new talent into and around the sector.
Supportive – we know the sector can be tough. We’re here to help and encourage everyone to help each other with a friendly community.
Inspirational change-maker – we see what doesn’t work and be the change, inspiring others to do the same or support the cause to help develop talent.
Provide an easy access platform to showcase the careers sector, for anyone considering moving into, or around it. This platform will act as a feeder signposting useful information which already exists, and fills in the gaps where it doesn’t, in an easy and accessible way.
To boost morale and engagement by providing a regular #careersfest unlike any other event, aimed at celebrating the great work happening in the sector, encouraging CDPs to stay within it and benefit from the sense of community. The festival will also provide interesting content to help inspire CDPs to be enthusiastic and innovative in their work and over time be one of the many benefits to working in the sector for new recruits into it.
To work with partners on innovative and engaging activities which build a new talent pipeline for the sector.
