Stronger Together

We may be a lovely friendly sector but trying to make connections with others and keep our morale high, can be a challenge. We also want to encourage everyone to share best practice and keep standards high to maintain a sector we can be proud of. And weed out those who do the sector harm.

As a sector we are stronger together so anything we can do to connect and support each other, whether online or in person, will be of great benefit. It’s why our values are centered around these things.

#CareersFest2024

In 2023 we brought careers professionals together to boost morale, share best practices and celebrate the work we do as a sector. In the many MANY pieces of positive feedback, one thing stood out. Connecting with others and that sense of community was electric. And fun! So join us for #CareersFest2024 for more of the same.

Our #careersimpact isn’t just measured by outcomes for our clients; our impact can also be measured by the time, energy and investment we make in each other as a community

Networking

Whilst in many of the roles in the sector it can feel lonely at times, networking with others, whether online or in person, can feel equally daunting. Remembering the ‘Three Ps’ of networking can be helpful.

Purpose

Establish some rapport in order to develop a relationship or perhaps gather information

People

Who is it you really want to connect with? Could be an individual or a person doing a particular type of role

Process

Think about your process from how you find out about networking opportunities to preparing for them and crucially how you’ll follow up after

What are we missing?

We’re stronger together and know that lots of you will have great things to share which we don’t know about yet but which are important to share with the careers community. Let us know if you think there are any further useful resources, information or website links we should be sharing.
